The Assignment

The Assignment: Research your assigned fashion era or decade and create a picture poster depicting men's and women's fashions of that era. Illustrations may be printed off of the Internet, sketched and colored free hand, taken from magazines or catalogues, or an actual photography may be used to illustrate your poster. Pictures must be at least 8" high to insure optimum visibility, since the timeline will hang in the space above the windows. Poster board will be provided for you.
Investigate the following fashion influences:
Culture - war, trade, entertainment
Lifestyle - climate, work leisure
Communication - marital status, social status, religious affiliation
Technology - inventions, production, science
Write a one page report, 12" font detailing your findings. Be sure to include fashion trends of the times such as hemlines, embellishments, accessories, necklines, silhouette, etc.
Include documentation from a minimum of 3 sources using MLA format - at least one should be a book
