Assessment
The ASK is a series of tests that cover many of the important
skills students learn at school. The main purpose of the ASK is
to provide the school with information that can be used to improve instruction
and to help teachers make sound educational decisions about each student's
learning. The scores allow teachers to check each student's strongest
and weakest areas of achievement.
The ASK will be administered
to grades six and seven on March 20th thru March 22nd, 2007 in the areas
of Math, Language Arts, Science and Social Studies.
All eighth graders in New Jersey
will take the Grade Eight Proficiency Assessment (GEPA) on March 12th
thru the 15th, 2007. This assessment applies to the students' progress in
relation to the New Jersey State Board of Education Core Curriculum Content
Standards in the areas of Math, Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies.
Scores for the ASK and
the GEPA are mailed home with the students' final report cards in June.
