Birches School has a music program that addresses the needs of all learners.  From first through fifth grade, the students study various elements of music.  The curriculum covers melody, harmony, rhythm, form, tone color and expression.  These elements are taught and experienced through singing, composing, listening, moving, and playing of instruments. 

If you peek inside the music room, you will usually see the students singing, clapping, dancing, playing musical instruments, working cooperatively in groups to create their own music, and just having fun.  “Boom Whackers” have been added to our music classroom this year which brings a lot of excitement and creativity to our curriculum.
