Washington Township High School "Changing Our World" Projects
Earns Two Awards from the Garden State Film Festival
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP - Washington Township High School's "Changing Our World" Project was the recent recipient of two awards from the Garden State Film Festival hosted in Asbury Park, NJ, April 4-6, 2008. Twenty teen members of the COW Project performed three songs at the festival, including an original song composed by Directors Deb Chamberlin and Eileen Lucarini and WTHS Teacher Todd Oberholtzer and produced by Robert Wynn entitled "We Can Change Our World" that was named Best Music from a Music Video. Additionally, the Music Video, "We Can Change Our World," produced by Washington Township High School graduate Michael Licisyn of Mixed Nuts Productions, earned the Broader Vision Award for Best Music Video.
"Changing Our World" is a student group that uses creative self-expression, including acting, writing, poetry, music, dance and art, to address the areas of life that really matter to teens and pre-teens and to re-affirm the importance that young people matter and can make a difference in the world.
