WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP – The Southern New Jersey Prosecutor Offices will host their 11th annual School Safety & Security Conference on Tuesday, August 8, 2017, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Washington Township High School’s Investors Bank Performing Arts Center (519 Hurffville-Cross Keys Road, Sewell, NJ 08080).
The event, which is open to the public, features keynote speaker Dan Jewiss, a retired Connecticut State Police Officer who was the lead investigator in the Sandy Hook tragedy. Also speaking will be George Scott, a member of the Traumatic Loss Coalition for Youth at Rutgers University. He will discuss teen suicide prevention in light of the recent Netflix series “13 Reasons Why.” The final speaker is Harry Earle, Gloucester Township Chief of Police, who will discuss school children and domestic violence.
The morning will begin with a continental breakfast from 8 to 8:30 a.m. during registration, followed by the full program. To register, email your name, organization and number of people attending to schoolsecurity@co.gloucester.nj.us.
The conference is ideal for administrators, teachers, paraprofessionals, support staff, law enforcement, first responders, parents and students.
