The Basic Skills Math Program

The Basic Skills Math program is for students who need to strengthen their math skills.  The BSI math teacher works directly in the child’s classroom along with the classroom teacher to provide additional assistance.  Students are selected for the program based on report card grades, teacher recommendations, standardized tests or math screenings.  Children may be placed in the program at anytime during the school year.  BSI math students receive progress reports from their math teacher at the end of each marking period.

Parents and children might like to explore the following math websites for some math practice and fun.

*Go to  www.aaamath.com  which allows you to select the grade level and math topic you’d like to practice.  Each page offers interactive practice, explanations, and challenge games.

*Play some basketball math at www.scienceacademy.com/BI/ .  Select your math skill and score a basket for each correct answer.
