"It is a greater work to educate a child in the true larger sense of the word than to rule a state.”

As the new Principal of Thomas Jefferson Elementary School, it is my sincere pleasure and honor to return to this incredible school community. During my tenure as Supervisor of Elementary Education, I was welcomed immediately as a member of the TJ family. I was truly impressed with the level of dedication to education, as well as the overwhelming feeling that people care about others here.
I am a proud product of the Washington Township School District, and my professional career has kept me here as an educator and a resident. I attended Whitman Elementary School and graduated from WTHS in 1981. I received a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from LaSalle University, received a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Rowan University, and earned a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Wilmington University. I hold certifications as a Teacher K-8, Supervisor, Principal, and School Administrator. I have spent 20 years teaching 4th and 5th grade at Birches Elementary School, and assumed the role of Elementary Supervisor in 2010. In addition to my record of success in the classroom and as a supervisor, my involvement in curriculum development has been varied and extensive.
My beliefs parallel the mission in place at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School. Encouraging our children to become active learners is the shared responsibility of us all. As principal, I will work collaboratively to provide opportunities for our students to acquire the skills to become productive citizens in a vastly changing society. In addition, positive programs will continue which help to instill students self-worth and promote positive interactions with others.
I am truly honored to be appointed to this position and am looking forward to working with the dedicated staff to provide the best possible educational program for our students.
