We will continue
to strive to improve our meals and service, with our students' long term
health as our priority. Healthy children are happier, better able to learn,
contribute to society, and can look forward to a better quality of life.
Our food service
is committed to healthy diets. We serve meals with all food groups. We
control portion sizes, even on our snack line. We are eliminating trans
fats. Our pizza is made with whole-grain crust. Our hot dogs are reduced
fat. We do not fry any of our food.
We are happy to
offer breakfast to all of our students. It makes a great start to
a very full school day. Breakfast is served every morning before homeroom.
Milk and juice are included with every breakfast. A menu is published each
month with the breakfast selections. The students may also choose cereal
with muffin or bagel instead of the hot entree.
The student
identification number is the PIN for our POS computer system. Students can
pay cash daily for your meals, or use cash or check to put money on their
accounts, avoiding the hassle of forgetting money.
Please fill out an application for free or reduced-price meals. These
applications are available at all schools, or in the Food Services Office at
118 Chapel Heights Road. This government program is for your benefit.
Meals will be provided free of charge or at the reduced price of $.40 for
lunch and $.30 for breakfast to all students who qualify. We process
applications all year, so if circumstances change, this benefit is there for
you.
If you have any
questions, please feel free to call the TJ cafeteria at 589-8248 ext. 3810.
