I am very excited about being the Principal of Wedgwood School. The faculty, community, and students continue to work together to provide an excellent educational program.

I have been in education for 25 years, and this is my 16th year as an administrator. Prior to coming to Wedgwood, I was an assistant principal in the High School, working with those students who were in the final stage of our public education system.  I feel privileged now to work with the younger students as their foundation for knowledge is being developed.

It is our goal to work together as a community to provide our students with the necessary skills and experiences that will enable them to be successful in the twenty-first century.

We believe that Wedgwood School is a place that students want to be and where students strive for academic excellence. We work hard to provide all students with the best learning environment in which they learn to set realistic goals for themselves and learn to use critical thinking skills to solve problems.  We foster appropriate good citizenship skills and respect for others, and cultivate a supportive climate in which all students and teachers develop and nurture a life-long love of learning.

Our teachers continue to grow professionally. Training in technology, learning styles, balanced literacy, and curriculum development are a few of the staff development programs underway.  We want our students to experience success --- a success that comes from the accomplishment of high expectations.  At the same time we want to foster a positive feeling about the school, making the time spent at Wedgwood Elementary School an enjoyable, exciting experience.
