The purpose of the library skills curriculum is to teach students how to utilize various resource materials for information literacy. The program also offers students a variety of literary genres and promotes a love of literature through reading, viewing, and listening to materials.
The library uses an automated circulation system by Follett. The collection consists of books, periodicals, videos, DVDs, and CD ROMs. Students attend library class and check out books on a weekly basis. The computer stations have access to the online catalog and the Internet for informational sources.
There are books fairs, book talks, read-alouds, author visits, and incentive programs to encourage students to read.
