Mrs. O'Hara - Safety Patrol Advisor
The Whitman School Safety Patrol of 2002-2003 is made up of 32 fifth grade students. These students were selected by various teachers at the end of the 4th grade year. Criteria involved in the selection process included academic performance, leadership, responsibility, behavior, attitude, and attendance and punctuality.
Our safeties are divided into two squads and are on assigned posts during alternate weeks. Safeties are required to wear belts and badges while on duty. Co-captains meet monthly to plan and schedule assigned positions. Safeties are positioned in the hallways around the building as well as areas surrounding the school. They ensure that Whitman students follow rules that help keep them safe.
