Procedures
IMC Use:
All students coming to the IMC must have a library pass.
Students must present their ID when using the IMC after school.
All students must sign in at the circulation desk.
Students may not come from a class when there is a substitute teacher.
It is expected that students report directly to the IMC; we will give you passes to your locker or lav.
Students must remain in the IMC for the entire period unless the teacher notes otherwise on the pass.
No student may return to class, study hall or the cafeteria during the last ten minutes of the period.
Students may not bring food or beverages into the IMC.
Conduct in the IMC:
Students are expected to behave in a respectful manner towards teachers, staff and fellow students.
Disruptive behavior can result in suspension of library privileges.
Library Cards:
At the beginning of the year, students are given an ID card which is used as their library card.
If you lose your card, you must go to the main office for a replacement card.
You must have your ID to get into the IMC after school, check out materials, and use the computers.
Borrowing Materials: .
Student ID must be presented to borrow library materials
If you want to renew a book, you do not need to bring the book with you, just stop in the IMC and present your ID card.
Circulation Periods
Books two weeks plus 2 renewals 6 books, but only 3 on any one topic
Reference Books may taken out for three days
Magazine 2 weeks (back issues only)
DVDs and Videos 1 week (subject to teacher request)
Music CDs 1 week
Fines:
Students are notified when books are due.
Though, there are no fines for overdue books, if a book is lost, the student must pay for its replacement.
Students who have outstanding obligations may have extra curricular and borrowing privileges suspended.
Photocopies: There is a photocopier for students use. There is a 10¢ charge for each page.
