Mrs. Christine Alcavage
Hello, I would like to introduce myself and tell you a little bit about my background. I have been teaching for 27 years. I began my teaching career as a permanent substitute at Bells School in 1989. I then was hired at Hurffville School and worked here from Sept. 1989- June 2004. I taught a Primary Self Contained Class my first year and then taught fourth grade from Sept. 1990-January 1996 when I left to have my daughter Danielle. I returned the following September as a part time special education teacher and then had my son Derek in March of 1998. I continued teaching at Hurffville until June of 2004. I decided to transfer to Bells School in Sept. of 2004 as a part time Special Education Teacher and loved it there but I needed to return to a full time position since my daughter was starting college. I interviewed with Mr. Pollock and he was kind enough to give me the job in 2012; so here I am, back with my Hurffville Family once again!

I have been married to my husband, Dan for 22 years and we have two children and a dog. My daughter Danielle is a sophomore at Rowan College at Gloucester County and my son Derek is a freshman at Gwynedd Mercy University. Our other family member is a 1 1/2 year old Boxer named Roxie, that we rescued this past August! My family and I live in Washington Township where both of my children were involved in sports and many other activities when they were younger. We like to vacation as a family both in the winter and summer. We usually go skiing during the winter and then somewhere tropical in the summer.
Some of my favorite hobbies and activities are reading, working out, baking, coaching basketball, and watching my son play lacrosse. I also have two direct sales businesses which are Pampered Chef and Juice Plus+. I have been a Pampered Chef consultant for 17 years and enjoy doing live cooking shows. I have also been a wellness coordinator for Juice Plus+ for 7 years. In that job I teach people about health and nutrition, making healthy food choices, and incorporating exercise into their daily schedules. Helping people get healthier is another passion of mine!
