• Third grade is a fun year for music. Not only does the music sound better and better, but we start expanding our aesthetic vocabulary, make a few recordings, learn to read music, and start thinking about what instrument we want to play!

There are two composers that we study this year. The first is Dmitri Kabalevsky. Specifically his "The Comedians" suite.

Here's a link to a great recording of his music: Dmitri Kabalevsky

The second composer is Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky; specifically his Nutcracker suitethe Swan Lake Suiteand his 1812 Overture (with real canons!).

I highly recommend getting them for your child. They make great listening!
