Respect and responsibility are extremely important for a successful learning environment, and are expected at all times. I work to use positive reinforcement as a way to motivate students. 4th graders will have a calendar that they carry throughout the day. If a student breaks a rule or doesn’t follow directions, they will receive a circle on their calendar. I ask that you please check the calendar each night and sign it at the end of the week.
The 4th grade team will also have a behavior program called “Dojo Dollars” to promote positive behavior. Students will earn “dollars” for a variety of positive behaviors such as being responsible, helping a friend, staying organized, keeping a clean desk, great participation, putting forth a good effort, etc. As they earn dollars, they will be able to choose to turn them in for a smaller reward, or continue to collect them to earn larger rewards.
