    Ready Position

    • Feet are slightly wider than shoulders, knees bent, with one foot slightly forward.
    • Hands in front of the body to quickly change between the bump or set depending on ball flight.

    Underhand Bump/Pass (used for a ball that is below shoulder height)

    • Feet are slightly wider than shoulders, knees bent, with one foot slightly forward.
    • Hands are cupped together, with thumbs flat and pointing down.
    • Arms are straight and are held inside the knees.
    • Hit the ball with the flat surface of your forearms.
    • During the follow through, arms do not go above your shoulders.

    Set (used for a ball that is higher than shoulder height)

    • Create a window with your thumbs and pointer fingers.
    • Look through the window at the ball.
    • Strike the ball with your fingertips.
    • Elbows should be out wide.
    • Follow through should be up not forward.
    • Pop the ball up over the net or to a teammate.

    Serving

    • The ball is served underhand.
    • Step with opposite foot.
    • Keep your head down and eyes on the ball.
    • Hit the ball out of your hand.
    • Hit the ball with the heel of your hand.
    • Do not throw ball into the air before you hit it.

    Game Safety/Rules

    • A team may hit the ball up to 3 times before it must go over.
    • A player cannot hit the ball 2 times consecutively.
    • A player may not carry (hit ball open handed/palm) the ball.
    • The ball may touch the net during the serve.
    • The ball may be played off the net.
    • A player may step outside the boundaries to play a ball.
    • A ball on the line is good.
    • Roll the ball under the net between points and serves.
    • No punching or one handed hits.
    • No kicking of the ball.
    • No touching, pulling, or hanging on the net.
    • Rally Scoring- a point is scored on every rally regardless of who served.
    • Games are played best three out of five games to 25 Teams must win by two points for a game to end.

     

    Rotations
