Materials Processing Grade 9-12 5 credits / 5 ppw
Materials Processing is an entry level program developed to expose students to the various trades that are found in the woodworking industry. Students will begin by learning how to to identify and use the various hand tools that are used in the shop. They will then learn how to safely operate the power tools. This course allows the students to further explore the tools and techniques related to the wood working industry. Proper SAFETY procedures, the correct use of hand tools and power equipment, assembly line production techniques and career opportunities are discussed through out the course. Students will construct individual projects as well as a group project.
