    Keith Haring:

Keith Allen Haring was an American artist whose pop art and graffiti-like work grew out of the New York City street culture of the 1980s.

    • Carefully draw your dancing figure in the center of the paper. (See examples)
    • Draw your dancing figure large enough so that your hand can not cover it.
    • The dancing figure is a stick figure that is bubbled and stylized.
    • Think about how the figure is moving- elbows are bending, hands are moving, knees are bending, and their waist is bending.
    • Draw lines around the figure to illustrate movement.
    • Once you are done drawing your dancing figure, outline the figure in a thick line.
    • Color your figure in completely use a second color.
    • Color the background in a third color.
    • Use different colors for the other three dancing figures.
    • You can repeat colors, but try not to have the same colors next to each other.
    • You may color your dancing figure in crayon, magic markers, water color, or color pencils (whatever supplies you have at home).
    • I can't wait to see the your Keith Haring Dancing Figures!
    • KEEP DANCING BELLS!!!

    • Remember: once you are finished with your artwork take a picture of it and email it to rherzog@wtps.org. Include the students name and teacher's name and grade. I will post it on Bells Online Art Gallery.
