Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Tracy Misata

This year begins my 9th year of teaching at Thomas Jefferson.  I started at TJ in the role of a Self-contained teacher for one year and for the last 7 years I have taught the Read 180 program to 4th and 5th grade.  Last year I also had the pleasure of working with kindergarten, first and second graders.  Which brings me to this year!  I will fill a variety of roles this year and I look forward to working with your child no matter what grade or level that may be.

Originally from Lake George, NY, I have lived in New Jersey for the last 20 years.  I graduated from SUNY Cortland with a degree in Health Education - way back when! :)  Then once we moved to NJ, I was fortunate enough to be a stay at home mom to our children for many years.   Once my own children were in school I returned to college to get certifications in Elementary Education and Teacher of Students with Disabilities from Rowan University.  I spent several years substitute teaching and working in various roles from an elementary T-1 teacher to a middle school long term sub prior to landing at TJ.  I feel so fortunate to have landed in such an amazing school with the most amazing fellow teachers.

When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with family and friends.  I am married with two grown children, Nicholas and Lauren, and a lovable, furry, four legged "baby" - Zoe.  Yes, I am a self-proclaimed dog lover!!  I also enjoy camping and outdoor activities with my family, in addition, I enjoy listening to audiobooks and podcasts, exercising, practicing yoga, and relaxing by just about any body of water.

I look forward to having a great year with your child.  To reach me call:  856-589-8248 Ext. 3939 or email at
