I am very excited to start the new Marking Period exploring the many creative possibilities in the art room. I am a recent graduate of Temple University/ Tyler School of Art with a bachelor degree in Painting, Drawing, and Sculpture and I am thrilled to share my expertise with the students. My goal is to have students find their time in the Middle School Visual Arts Program to be an exciting and valuable experience.
In Class, students will learn Art based on the NJ Core Curriculum Content Standards. They will be studying:
· Fundamentals of line, shape, color, form and the processes in which they apply
· History of Art in different cultures from around the globe
· How to critique famous works of Art as well as their own
· Workplaces in which Art skills are in high demand
I will be working along with my e-board to communicate current art projects and the goals of each. I would also like to make demonstrations available to students to practice at home if they wish. Most importantly, I plan to be accessible to the students during study halls and after school Art Club for the extra time each individual may need along the way. I am looking forward to having a successful and creative marking period with all students.
