WTHS STRUCTURED LEARNING EXPERIENCE- "FROM SCHOOL TO WORK WITH PRIDE"
Pre-Employment Mentoring (ages 16-18)/ Transiton ( ages 18-21)
Through our Structured Learning Experience Partnerships with several local businesses and community agencies, students 16 years of age or older (junior year of high school) are provided with the opportunity to participate in school-sponsored non-paid external learning experiences. Placements vary depending on the abilities and interest of the students.. We offer a variety of structure learning experiences to expose students to different jobs and businesses. Each student’s School to Work program is developed in accordance with the student’s Individual Education Program Transition Plan. Students receive credit for time spent at the worksite. Students are supervised by an WTHS job coach and a workplace mentor.
