Mrs. Christine Bodine
Hello and welcome to my computer classroom!
At Orchard Valley Middle School I teach Computer and Financial Literacy 7, Computer and Financial Literacy 8, and Keyboarding 6. In Computer and Financial Literacy 7 and 8 we cover topics from the New Jersey Student Learning Standards for 21st Century Life and Careers-Personal Financial Literacy. In today's global economy, students need to have the knowledge and skills to adapt to an evolving workplace and world. To address these demands, New Jersey's 21st Century Life and Careers skills establish clear guidelines for what students need to know to be successful in their future careers and to achieve financial independence. Within the Educational Technology standard students will learn to use didgital tools to access, manage, evaluate, and synthesize information in order to solve real world problems both individually and collaboratively.
Computer Keyboarding 6 is an intensive one marking period exploratory course (approximately 45 days) in which six graders engage in computer keyboarding muscle/memory skill development and application. It focuses on developing their ability to become a "touch-typist" through proper posture, finger position, and keying techniques.
