Mrs. Donna McGough
Dear 5th Graders,
I hope that you are excited as I am to begin this school year in Room 31! This year will be filled with excitement, fun and hard work. I was so happy to meet you today!
This year we will be learning about so many exciting things. In Social Studies, you can look forward to learning about early explorers, westward expansion and the Revolutionary and Civil Wars. In Science, we will explore physical and life sciences, space and earth systems. . You will expand on your math skills not only through math lessons, but through hands on experiences and math centers. Get ready for fractions, decimals, multiplication, factors and mixed numbers.
Fun and learning await you! Please come to class ready to learn and to enjoy school. Let's make everyday a great day!
Let me tell you a little bit about me. I have been a teacher for fifteen years and this is my thirteenth year teaching in Washington Township. Before coming to Wedgwood , I taught at Whitman for three years. My husband, two sons and I have been living in Washington Township for 25 years and my two sons have attended Wedgwood. Nicholas is now a Junior at Stockton University and Sean is a recent college graduate completing an internship with Disney at the Magic Kindgom. Both boys play competitive baseball and basketball. Our family has the two best dogs in the world - Mylee and KD both named after famous NBA Players. Mylee is 9 and KD is 4 and both love to play frisbee and to swim in our pool.
I love to watch the Eagles and Phillies. I also enjoy playing video games and spending hours in the arcades at the shore. My favorite place of all times is Disney World and for the first time in my life, I rode the Rockin' Roller Coaster last August. I also love Farmville and Candy Cane Crush!
I have heard wonderful things about each of you from your third and fourth grade teachers. They tell me how lucky I am to have such a wonderful class. I have very high expectations for you because of all of the great things that your teachers have told me .I can’t wait to learn about you and the things that you enjoy. I hope that you are as excited about learning as I am about teaching. I am looking forward to the best year ever!
Sincerely,
Mrs. McGough
