Welcome to Room 30!

     Welcome to 5th Grade!    

     My name is Renee Gelzunas, and I have been teaching 5th Grade, at Wedgwood School, since September of 2001. Prior to that, I taught 4th Grade for three years in Vineland, NJ. Prior to that, I taught 6th-8th Grade in New Brunswick, NJ.

     Students will have an exciting, educational year in my classroom. We read, research, study, game, test, go on Virtual Field Trips, and complete projects individually and in small groups. Our classroom is a safe environment for asking questions, making statements, and expressing concerns/opinions.

     Students and parents can call or email any time, and I will get back to you as quickly as possible.

     Students switch classes this year.  Science/Health (Gelzunas), Social Studies (Gelzunas), Math (McGough), and ELA (Evans).

     Students attend Specials 11:10-11:50 Monday-Friday.

     World Language is Friday 1:30-2:10.

     Handbells, Orchestra, Chorus, Band are Monday-Thursday 2:55-3:30.

     Our daily class schedule is as follows:

     9:25 Students enter, unpack, take care of jobs

     9:30-10:20 Science/Health

     10:20-11:10 Math

     11:10-11:50 Special

     11:50-12:50 Social Studies

     12:50-1:30 Lunch/Recess

     1:30-2:20 ELA

     2:20-3:10 ELA

     3:10-3:40 Clean Up, IDR, Study Center/Recess

     3:45 Dismissal

     It's going to be a fun and educational year!
