My teaching career began 27 years ago.  I joined the Whitman team in 2002 and have been the school's Reading Specialist ever since.

As Reading Specialist, I am committed to working with staff, parents, and students to achieve success in all areas of reading education.  My top priority is to instill a love of reading in all students.  I think "getting lost in a book" is the best thing in the world! My magic moment was when my 3rd grade teacher, Ms. McIntosh, read aloud the book The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis. I was always a reader, but from that moment on, I was hooked! My hope is to share that with my students.

With POSITIVE parent and teacher support, I am confident that our children will achieve their highest literacy potential.
