Miss Curry

I could not be more excited to continue my sixth year of teaching at Wedgwood Elementary School! Washington Township is the town in which I have grown up, and better yet, grown to love! In the past, I was an in-class support teacher for two years in third grade at Wedgwood. Now, I get to continue another year of teaching an exciting and engaging program at Wedgwood. I will be an English Language Arts teacher for 5th grade using Read180 and Writing City to guide our learning. This year I will also be an English Language Arts teacher for some of our students that need a little bit of extra support in other classrooms.
I strive to volunteer my time and give to others through numerous service experiences, such as Boy Scouts for America and CWBPIFF (Colette W. Bleistine Paying it Forward Foundation), as well as many more. I have a passion for dogs, which has resulted in rescuing a German Shepherd and a Black Labrador from a local shelter. My extreme interested in learning American Sign Language has opened another door for me in education. Since studying ASL, I have been able to incorporate hands-on learning inside the classroom! A recent interest of mine has been learning how to use essential oils to live a healthy and wholesome life, while incorporating Oola (the state of awesomeness) into my mindfulness mindset.
During the summer months I enjoy spending the hot days at the beach or by the pool! Kayaking, white water rafting, and other adventurous trips always involve experiences that I can learn from and teach in every day lessons.
As the cold approaches, I spend a great deal of time snowboarding to get me through the cold winter months. I have learned that you can master any difficult experience, such as snowboarding, as long as you set your mind and goal in the right direction without quitting. It may have taken years to do so, and even when facing difficult obstacles such as a broken leg from falling down the mountain, you should never let a bump in the road knock you off of your path!

I always look forward to an exciting and adventurous time together filled with smiles!
Your teacher,
Miss Curry :)
