"Communication is the essence of human life."
Hello! My name is Kelly Brophy and I am the Speech/Language Pathologist at Chestnut Ridge Middle School. I also work with preschool students in the Washington Township community.
In case you would like to know about my background: I grew up in Northern New Jersey in a small town full of mountains and lakes. I attended Montclair State University for my undergraduate degree in English and Psychology as well as my graduate degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. I also hold a Teaching Certificate in English. I have been practicing speech/language pathology for over four years in various settings, across the lifespan. I have been living in South Jersey for three years, and it seems like a good fit! In my spare time, I love to run, cook, spend time with friends/family (and my cat!), garden, go camping, knit, and practice mindfulness and yoga.
In speech/language therapy sessions, we will work hard to accomplish our speech and language goals using a multisensory approach. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. Email is generally the quickest way to contact me throughout the school day, or you can reach me by phone. You can always send a note with your son/daughter if that is easiest!
I am looking forward to a wonderful year!
