Ms. Amber Akroyd
My name is Amber Akroyd and I am a Speech-Language Pathologist at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School. My role consists of evaluating and providing therapy to students in the areas of articulation, language, fluency, and voice. Some background information about me: I received my bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology from Stockton University and my master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Nova Southeastern University. I have professional experience working in a couple of settings, which include public schools and a skilled nursing facility. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, cooking and baking, walking my dog Simba, and spending time with family.
Throughout the year, I will be sending home various worksheets and/or activities to work on with your child at home, depending on your child’s specific goals and speech/language needs. I encourage you to complete and practice these worksheets/activities every day or as often as your schedule will allow.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me by e-mail or phone. Make sure to check the Web Resources for links to activities, materials, and games for extra practice. I look forward to a wonderful year!
