Welcome to my art class!

My name is Mrs. Danowitz and I am excited to have your student in my class this year. I have over 20 years experience teaching art to students of all levels and I look forward to exploring the artistic process with students. It is my belief that cultivating a creative and welcoming environment is essential to fostering confident art makers. I believe that every student is capable of creating something meaningful. I can't wait to see what your student will create. 

In my spare time, I enjoy upcycling items to create works of art in painting, pottery,crafting and jewelry. I also paint murals for private residences and businesses and  worked as an artist for the Philadelphia Mural Arts Program for 10 years. You can see my large-scale murals as you drive through Philadelphia. 

In addition to teaching art classes, I am the Art Club Advisor and Student Council Co-Advisor. My goals at OVMS include using art to make our school a fun and creative place.
