Ms. Kathy Sandusky

Hi!  I am looking forward to an enjoyable and successful year!

Presently, I am teaching AP Literaure and Composition and an elective called Film as Literature for grades 10-12.

In AP English, we will enhance our literary analysis, critical thinking, and writing skills in addition to reading great works of literature.  We will concentrate on the "Big Ideas" of the course including characterization, setting, narration, structure, figurative language, and literary argumentation.

In Film as Lit, we will learn to "read" movies by using literary approaches.  We will also identify storytelling patterns; understand film genres, terminology, and techniques; and develop a thoughtful and critical approach to film analysis.  Overall, my goal is for students to acquire a deeper appreciation of film.

I have been teaching at Washington Township High School since 1995.  I have a BA from Rowan University with secondary education certification, and my MA is from Widener University.
