Welcome to TV Production!

My name is Kristen Dirato. This is my 17th year in education teaching and mentoring students in the TV/Video Production field. I studied Film and Video Production at Full Sail University's aggressive academic program and technical training and have a Bachelor of the Arts in Communication from Thomas Edison State University. I have 18 years experience in the TV and film/video industry. I previously worked in New York as an Associate Producer and Production Manager and Coordinator for the Muppets on Sesame Street. I also worked as Production Supervisor on the feature film, "12 and Holding" and as an Assistant Production Coordinator on the independent film, "Duane Hopwood", for Elevation FilmWorks.

The ten years experience managing a TV Station that is broadcast to over 30,000 homes locally, paved the way to my current position teaching TV, film and video to high school students. I have maintained a high level of knowledge that has been gained developing a top-rated media studies program at various local high schools. I have extensive experience coordinating in the film and video industry. I have expanded my experience by founding a local production company, Artists Alike Studios. I currently am the Director of Operations for the Garden State Film Festival, New Jersey’s Premiere Independent Film Festival and worked as a video editor for CBS3 in Philadelphia.

I will be using Schoology every day to frequently post assignments, daily update and grades.
