Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction

Tricia Holmes

The Washington Township Board of Education approved the appointment of Tricia L. Holmes as the district’s new Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction on March 31. 2026.

Mrs. Holmes brings more than two decades of educational leadership experience to her new role, including service as a principal, supervisor, and classroom teacher within Washington Township. Prior to the new appointment, Holmes was Principal at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School. Previously, she led Birches Elementary School and Hurffville Elementary School, and before assuming building leadership roles, she served as the district’s Supervisor of Special Education. 

Holmes’ leadership experience spans elementary and secondary levels and includes curriculum development, program oversight, staff supervision, budgeting, safety initiatives, Title I programming, and student support systems. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a strong commitment to instructional excellence, professional learning, school climate, and data-informed decision-making. She has led school improvement initiatives, supported Multi-Tiered Systems of Support, collaborated with district departments to strengthen operations and safety protocols, and worked closely with staff and families to ensure positive outcomes for students.

Holmes holds a Master’s Degree in Learning Disabilities from Rowan University and maintains New Jersey certifications as a School Administrator, Principal, and Supervisor. She began her career as a Special Education teacher at Washington Township High School, where she served for 17 years before moving into district-level leadership.

As Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, Holmes will oversee curriculum development, instructional programming, professional development, assessment systems, and strategic academic initiatives across the district. She will work in close partnership with building leaders and supervisors to ensure coherent, rigorous, and innovative learning experiences for all students.
