Sixth-Grader Trey Johnson Named Winner of 2026 Washington Township Middle School Idol Competition

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP – Chestnut Ridge Middle School sixth-grader Trey Johnson showcased his talents and was named winner of the Washington Township Middle School Idol competition, held on Friday, January 30, 2026. Trey sang “It's My Life” by Bon Jovi for the first round to secure first place in the sixth-grade age group. In the finals, he competed against the seventh-grade winner Audrianna Elmer from Bunker Hill Middle School and eighth-grade winner Sophia Clarke from Orchard Valley Middle School. Trey emerged as the winner with his rendition of Elton John’s “I’m Still Standing.”  

For winning the Middle School Idol competition, Trey has earned a solo spotlight in the Washington Township High School Choral Pops Experience concert on February 12, 2026, at 7 p.m. in the Republic Bank Performing Arts Center.

In the sixth-grade age group, Aria Boccuti (BHMS) was named first runner up. 

In the seventh-grade age group, Cecelia Mailliard (BHMS) was named first runner up, and Charlotte Thomas (BHMS) was second runner up. 

In the eighth-grade age group, Tia Stewart (OVMS) was named first runner up, and Julia DiSanto (OVMS) was second runner up.
