WTHS Students Honored at 8th Annual NJMEA Music Technology Expo
Washington Township High School music technology students carted home numerous awards, including a “Best in Show” recognition, at the New Jersey Music Educators Association’s (NJMEA) Eighth Annual Music Technology Expo hosted at Rowan University on May 18th.
The event presented opportunities for students to attend hands-on training in workshops introducing new technology gear and running live sound for big venue performances, as well as workshops on mixing and master/post production to help the student-artists enhance their final products.
Students also had the chance to showcase their own creative compositions, which were produced in the WTHS Music Lab, for adjudication and awards. The students' compositions included original ideas as well as covers, remixes and loop-based projects.
“My students received many awards, including Best in Show for one project that captured the monetary prize of the day,” WTHS teacher Greg Janicki said. “We are extremely proud of each of these students and their accomplishments."
