Country Music Artist Jessie Chris Shares Anti-Bullying Message with OVMS Students
Jessie Chris, January 2018’s Billboard’s Artist to Watch, visited Orchard Valley Middle School on October 4th to share her anti-bullying message with the students. She spoke to them about her struggles as a young girl trying to find a place to fit in and make friends, and how those struggles led her to her music. She took questions from the students, performed two of her songs for them and even took a group selfie. Chris is touring over 100 middle schools this year to share her message. OVMS was school #61.
During her presentation, she led a group singalong of "Happy Birthday" for student Emily Belsanti and the presented her with a copy of her new children's book entitled Dreams.
OVMS assistant principal A’ndrea Brown welcomed Chris to the OVMS family and presented her with an official OVMS hoodie to thank her for sharing her message.
