Washington Township High School Seniors Receive Joe Konecki Memorial Scholarship

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP – The Washington Township Schools information technology department, as well as additional district staff, worked together to honor the memory of former district director of information technology Joe Konecki with a memorial scholarship, which was given out at Senior Awards Night on Friday, June 14, 2024.
Konecki passed away suddenly on November 25, 2023. He led the district’s IT department since joining Washington Township in November 2013. He was a kind and caring person dedicated to the staff and students of Washington Township.
The 2024 Joe Konecki Memorial Scholarship was presented to WTHS seniors Shaylee Wolff and Elliszander Lau. The scholarship, in the amount of $500 each, goes to graduates with a passion for technology.
“We are always so touched when we see how Township comes together in good times and in tough times,” WTHS teacher and honors coordinator Jill Graham said. “This scholarship is proof of the heart and generosity of this community – and of the heart and generosity of Joe Konecki. We know how much he is missed.”
