Middle School Students Named Winners of Rotary’s Annual “Cool to Be Kind” Essay Contest

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP - The Washington Township Rotary group recently hosted a “Cool to Be Kind” essay contest, where Washington Township middle school students were invited to pen their ideas of what kindness means.
Last week, Rotary Youth Director Tiffany Orihel, and other Rotarians, visited Bunker Hill, Chestnut Ridge, and Orchard Valley Middle School to honor this year’s winners, who received certificates and a $50 gift card to Wawa.
The 2025 Cool to Be Kind essay contest winners included:
Bunker Hill Middle School – Jasmine Zubairu (grade 8), Abigail Coleman (grade 7), Emma Eavis (grade 8), and Emery Butler (grade 7).
Chestnut Ridge Middle School – Ethan Ngo (grade 6), Alyana Chindemi (grade 7), Abigail Dameika (grade 6), and Avery Moore (grade 6).
Orchard Valley Middle School – Claire Watkins (grade 6).
