WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP – Middle school students and their parents who want to get better in tune with the different technology options offered by the Washington Township Public Schools are invited to attend the inaugural “TWP Talks Tech” night on Tuesday, September 12, 2017. The event is open to students and parents from all three middle schools and runs from 6 to 8 p.m. at Orchard Valley Middle School (238 Pitman-Downer Road, Sewell).
Hosted by the District’s Middle School Instructional Technology Committee, TWP Talks Tech will host many learning stations for parents and students alike. The stations include:
- Accessing and using digital textbooks
- Office 365 apps, including collaboration features
- Blackboard classes and how they work
- How web tools can be used for projects
- 1:1 laptop initiative (supplies, school supports, communication and more)
- Digital Citizenship, including social media, plagiarism, online safety, and common sense media.
Food, games, activities and prizes will be available throughout the night. Families are encouraged to sign up via the online registration site: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/twp-talks-tech-tickets-36917922500
Some of the information station sessions will be made available online as they take place, and those sessions will be recorded for viewing after the event. This will allow for families who aren’t able to attend the program the opportunity to attend virtually and gain more knowledge about these technological initiatives.
