Putting the Puzzle Together
Wedgwood Elementary School Creates Puzzle Piece Tree in Honor of Autism Awareness Month
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP – Wedgwood Elementary School is celebrating Autism Awareness Month in April by having each student in the school color a puzzle piece. The staff has used the pieces to create a tree in one of the school’s hallways.
“It is awesome to see random students stopping by the tree to find their piece,” special education teacher Lisa Warrington said. “It shows we all belong together no matter our differences.”
In the photo above, Wedgwood staff members pose in front of the tree. They include (left to right): Kneeling – Jan Sanders, Maryann Garten, Regina Nigro, Maria Petruzelli, Lisa Warrington, Kelly Dahl, Lisa DiGrazio; Standing – Heather Ritchie, Colleen Adams.
