Night of FOUR Thousand Laughs
WTHS Minutemen Marching Band Set to Host Comedy Night Fundraiser on Friday, November 16th
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP – The Washington Township Minutemen Marching Band will host its fourth comedy event, the “Night of FOUR Thousand Laughs,” on Friday, November 16, 2018, at the Whitman Square Fire Hall (131 Johnson Road, Blackwood). The laughs get underway at 7 p.m.
The night’s headliner is Chris Rich. As a result of winning the prestigious Ladies of Laughter Contest, a national comedy competition held at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Rich was given a long-running spot on Comedy Central’s Premium Blend. She also has appeared as a featured comedian on ABC’s “The View” and on the Lifetime Network.
Also performing will be the John Kensil, who earned his chops while writing for Jay Leno and Joan Rivers. The Temple University graduate also hosts the “John Kensil Show,” which is a sarcastic takeoff on the old Dean Martin show, where Kensil hosts alongside a cast of offbeat character comedians.
Hosting the event will be Joan Weisblatt, a former lawyer for 30 years who is the regular host of the Gotham Comedy Foundation shows at Gotham Comedy Club in New York City.
Tickets are $35 and include dinner and the show. Attendees are welcome to bring their own beverages. All proceeds benefit the WTHS Marching Band Boosters.
