Former WTHS Technology Education Teacher Rich McKee to be Remembered During July 21st Memorial Service
Longtime Washington Township High School technology education teacher Rich McKee, who passed away unexpectedly following a fall on July 10th, will be remembered with fondness during a planned memorial service on Sunday, July 21st at Hobo Hall (690 Lambs Road in Pitman, N.J.). A visitation from 1-2 p.m. will be followed with a tribute performance by members of the Hobo Band, eulogies and light refreshments.
McKee retired in 2013 following 10 years in the District and more than two decades in education. He was 71 years old.
“Rich McKee was a great teacher who inspired his students with his knowledge and passion for the field of engineering,” WTHS principal Jonathan Strout said. “He was a dedicated and caring member of the 9-10 teaching staff, who stayed in touch with many of his former students. Our prayers go out to his family and friends.”
In lieu of flowers, donations in Rich’s name can be made payable to “Original Hobo Band, Inc.” to benefit the Founders Scholarship Awards. For additional information on the memorial service, please contact Phil Blackman at 856-589-2856.
