Washington Township High School Graphics Students Take Tour of Screen Printing Process at Cherry Hill’s Designer T’s
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP – Washington Township High School students in Mr. Dale Biebel’s Advanced Graphics class took a field trip to Designer T’s of Cherry Hill on Thursday, October 19, 2017. Biebel set up the visit with Washington Township resident Ray Jewusiak, the vice president of Designer T’s.
Ray invited the class to do a walk-through of his facility and watch a shirt the class designed go through the entire printing process. The students had hosted a contest to see who could design the best shirt for the TWP Graphics courses, which was won by Brandon Bittner.
The tour of Designer T’s began with Jewusiak’s art department going over what an amazing job Bittner did on his design, Biebel said. Then, the tour moved into a room where the students were able to see designs etched onto printing screens. Next, they moved onto seeing the Designer T’s automated wing, where students could watch a high-volume order go through the screen-printing process. They moved over to the manual screen printing side of the facility, where Jewusiak had his employees walk the students through the manual screen printing application to T-shirts. Students then had the opportunity to print their own shirts.
“This trip was absolutely amazing, and Ray deserves a lot of credit and recognition for an incredible experience he gave my students,” Biebel said.
