BOE Approves Vision Statement as Part of New District Strategic Plan
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP – The Board of Education voted unanimously, on July 16, 2018, to adopt a proposed vision statement that was among preliminary recommendations in the development of the District’s new strategic plan. The vision statement reads:
The Washington Township School District will promote a safe, inclusive environment that embraces differences and provides varied experiences to help all students build an academic foundation that will develop critical thinking skills, interpersonal skills, social and emotional intelligence, and the confidence to be ethical, responsible, and productive citizens in a global society.
“A 28-member District steering committee worked diligently with Dr. Bill Adams and Stacey Adams through Hazard, Young, Attea and Associates (HYA) and Education, Consulting, Research and Analytics (ECRA) over six months to develop a comprehensive strategic plan for the District,” Superintendent of Schools Joe Bollendorf said. “We believe that this stated vision, and the implementation of recommendations for improvements that emerged from this strategic plan, will position us for unparalleled growth and success in the next five years.”
“The Board of Education is grateful for the input of so many stakeholders who weighed in on the state of our District during this important process,” Board president Ginny Murphy said. “This vision statement will help to further focus our attention and bolster our efforts at all academic levels for the benefit of all students.”
