Washington Township High School Boys Soccer Team Places Four on SCANJ All-State Squads
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP – Washington Township High School’s state champion boys soccer team received a few more honors this past weekend, these of the individual variety.
On Sunday, January 6th, seniors Brett Guetens, Chad Yates, Arturo Serano and Jake Logar attended the Soccer Coaches Association of New Jersey’s awards banquet. Yates and Logar were selected first-team all-state, while Serano was tabbed for the second team, and Guetens was an honorable mention.
In addition, Yates learned that he was picked as a United Soccer Coaches all-American. Those teams will be announced at the organization’s annual conference next weekend in Chicago.
The Minutemen continued their dominance of the sport in South Jersey and the state during the 2018 season, capturing the Olympic Conference, South Jersey Group IV and state Group IV championships.
“Congratulations to Brett, Jake, Chad and Arturo on the all-state honors and recognition,” Minutemen head coach Shane Snyder said. “They guided the Minutemen to three South Jersey titles and a state title in the last three years. This recognition is a cherry on top of the illustrious careers the four have had.”
