WTHS Interact Club to Host 16th Annual 18-Hour Dance-A-Thon to Benefit ALS
The Washington Township High School Interact Club will be hosting its 16th Annual “Monzo Madness,” a 18-hour Dance-A-Thon to benefit local victims of Lou Gehrig’s disease (ALS). A portion of the funds also will be donated to the family of WTHS special education teacher Mr. Michael Schuenemann, a beloved colleague, friend, teacher and coach, who passed away on January 9, 2019, leaving his wife, Lauren, and three young children. WTHS students, raising a minimum of $50 to participate, will begin dancing at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, January 18, 2019, in the gymnasium of the school’s 11-12 wing. The event will continue until 8 a.m. on Saturday, January 19th.
Over 350 students have already pre-registered for the event and have already raised over $17,000 for ALS research. A donation will be made to the National ALS Foundation, bringing WTHS’s donation total to over $268,000 since the fundraiser’s inception.
Donations, with checks made payable to the WTHS Interact Fund, can be forwarded to April Renzetti at WTHS, 529 Hurffville-Cross Keys Road, Sewell, NJ 08080. For additional information, please contact April Renzetti or Liz Moore via email at arenzetti@wtps.org or emoore@wtps.org.
Monzo Madness participants may not leave the event without parental consent. Parents are asked to please email April Renzetti directly with these requests.
