Thomas Jefferson Elementary School Shares Remote TV Club Broadcasts with Board of Education
The news doesn’t stop, even for a pandemic.
Thomas Jefferson Elementary School principal Gary Breen and assistant media specialist Lynne Promise recently shared the talents of the fifth-grade members of the school’s Television Club, who have continued to provide daily broadcasts for the TJ community, even while working remotely.
The students presented a sampling of their"Club Take Overs,” creative interpretations of the daily news, as highlighted in their Thanksgiving-themed broadcast that they shared virtually with the Board members on November 24, 2020. The broadcasts have allowed the students to maintain important connections with their schoolmates, teachers and staff.
“Mrs. Promise was determined not to let our current situation impact what she and computer teacher Julia McGuckin and their students do,” Breen said. “We are so grateful that they have continued these broadcasts that highlight events and celebrations in our TJ community. The students continue to handle every aspect of the productions.”
