Washington Township High School Student Council “Fan Van” Raises Eagles’ Spirit Across Township
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP – You could hear the bus coming before you could see it. But once it was in sight, the Washington Township Senior Class Council’s Eagles “Fan Van” elicited smiles, screams and countless choruses of Eagles cheers.
A group of 14 WTHS seniors, along with advisor Carol Costello, boarded Blanche Rosati’s decked-out school bus on Friday morning and proceeded to travel across Washington Township, drumming up spirit along the way. The Eagles fight song played loudly over the speakers outside of the bus, as the group started with a visit to the Cardinal Village retirement community before hitting each of the District’s seven elementary schools, where separate pep rallies were planned.
In addition to having a good time and rooting on the Eagles, the pep rallies served as a way to bring more attention to the District’s upcoming Helping Hands Super Bowl Hoagie Sale on Sunday, February 4th.
There was a challenge element to the day, as well. The elementary schools each had their chance to impress the WTHS seniors, with the school deemed to have the most spirit earning an ice cream party for the entire building. Each stop was impressive, so much so that the group was having difficulty determining a winner. The results of the competition will be announced on Monday, February 5th.
