GTECC Home and School Council to Sponsor "Kindred Spirits"
The Grenloch Terrace Early Childhood Center Home and School Council will host a free early childhood workshop entitled “Kindred Spirits” for all early childhood educators on Thursday, March 15, 2018. The event originally was scheduled for Wednesday, March 7th, but was moved due to the impending snow in the forecast. Attendees will have seven workshops to choose from and can attend two sessions (5:00-5:45 p.m. and 6:00-6:45 p.m.) Registration begins at 4:30 p.m.
“Kindred Spirits” is intended for primary educators who are classroom teachers, basic skills teachers, special education teachers, reading specialists, supervisors, student-teachers and/or administrators. The evening will cover a variety of topics including:
- Teaching Made Fun on the SmartBoard (or Epson)
- How to Make Telling and Reading Stories Worth Listening To
- The Importance of Play with Students with Autism
- Using Wordless Picture Books to Develop Kindergarteners' Oral Language Skills
- Focused Attention Practices at Home & In School
- We are ALL Scientists: A workshop for the Busy Kindergarten Teacher
- Yoga Strategies for Building Executive Functioning/Self-Regulation
- Reading in Kindergarten
- Kindergarten Apps
