Illustrating What They've Learned
Live-Acted Book One Creates Discussion, Creativity in Wedgwood Elementary School Classrooms
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP – Wedgwood Elementary School students in Mrs. Jan Sanders’ and Mrs. Catherine Snyder’s classes were so moved by the staff’s live performance of the anti-bullying book One, they decided to have a class discussion to follow up on the book’s meaning.
After the discussion, the students then illustrated themselves as a color and showed in pictures and words what they would do if someone they knew was being treated unkindly. They eagerly shared their ideas with each other.
Above is a photo of the students showing off their illustrations. The performance helped kick off the New Jersey Week of Respect, which runs from October 1-5, 2018.
