Washington Township High School to Host Spirit Parade and Homecoming Crowning on November 7th
Washington Township High School students and staff are holding on to one of the school’s most beloved and deep-rooted traditions by moving ahead with the annual Spirit Parade and Homecoming crowning on Saturday, November 7, 2020, beginning at 3 p.m. in the WTHS Core bus loop. The event, being organized by the school’s Junior/Senior Class Council, will be held rain or shine. Football will follow versus Cherry Hill West at 6 p.m.
In accordance with COVID social distancing protocols, participants from various clubs and activities will be required to wear masks and will be showcasing decorated cars, floats and performances.
Following the parade, Student Council will sponsor the school’s Homecoming celebration by introducing each member of the Homecoming Court and their escort and inviting them onto a stage for the announcement of the Homecoming Queen and the crowning.
To limit the crowd size, each parade and Homecoming participant will receive wristbands that they can distribute to their family and friends. Spectators will be asked to park in the 9/10 parking lot, show their wristbands and bring chairs to the Core parking lot so that they can maintain social distancing while enjoying the festivities. Per current state outdoor gathering guidelines, the event will be capped at 500 people.
The 12 members of the 2020 Homecoming Court include: Julia Albanese, Destini Allen, Precious Barclift, Francesca Gallelli, Isabella Gentile, Jessica Lacava, Kaylee Luckiewicz, Marisa Oldrati, Angelina Saverase, Ava Troxel, Kelly Wei and Taylor Wise.
